Frequently Asked Questions

A lien may have been placed on the vehicle by a person, a bank, or other entities as collateral to ensure that the owner of the vehicle honors a debt. A lien is attached to the vehicle, not to the owner of the vehicle. So, if you buy a car that has a lien on it and the previous owner does not pay his or her debt, the car can be repossessed from you.

This search will only include liens registered in the province that you request.
Monday to Saturday, from 9 AM to 6 PM (PST). We are closed on statutory holidays.

If you purchase personal Property (vehicle, boat trailer etc.) that has a Lien attached to it, you could lose both the property and your money.
Every service we offer is processed through the appropriate government organization. You will receive an official document indicating the search criteria, time and date of your request. Most government documents also display logos or contact information as proof of authenticity.
